The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act or Right to Education Act (RTE), is an Act of the Parliament of India enacted on 4 August 2009. The act describes the modalities of the importance of free and compulsory education for children between 6 and 14 in India under Article 21a of the Indian Constitution. The Act makes education a fundamental right of every child between the ages of 6 and 14 and specifies minimum norms in elementary schools. It requires all private schools to reserve 25% of seats to children (to be reimbursed by the state as part of the public-private partnership plan
The Government of Gujarat is implementing a
scheme under Section 12 (1) A of the Right to Children to Free and Compulsory
Education Act, 2006 to provide free admission to children belonging to weaker
and deserving groups in Std-1 in non-subsidized private primary schools as per
5%. Children who have attained the age of five years on June 1, 2020 and have
the following priorities are eligible for admission under this scheme as per
the priority order.In order to get admission, the child's guardian can fill the
admission form on the website https://rte.orpgujarat.com from 15/06/2030 to
8/06/2050. Necessary details in this regard such as what evidence to be
submitted with the application, all the details of which are to be submitted by
the respondent are posted on the website. The applicant can collect the
required evidence and apply online within the time limit so that the required
period is kept between the announcement of admission and the date of online
application. The process of submitting the foma at the receiving setter with
the required documents during the admission process has been canceled due to
the COVID-19 epidemic. At the time of filling up the online form, the guardian
has to upload the required proofs such as proof of last date, proof of
residence, proof of caste / category, as well as proof of income (where
applicable) etc. The guardian will have to keep the online form. Forms filled
online will not have to be submitted anywhere.
The Government of Gujarat will be
responsible to organize the RTE Gujarat Admission 2020-21 admission procedure
for the eligible applicants every year. For the applicants who want to get
admission in the school the official authority will release the application
forms in online mode on the official website of the university.
Applicants who want to get admission in 1st class needs to fill and submit the application form which will be made available on the official website itself. The Government of Gujarat will organize the RTE Gujarat Admission 2019 – 2020 under the RTE Act 2009.In the state of Gujarat, all the private schools will be in a position to reserve 25% seats under the RTE Act 2009 for the applicants who belong to the weaker section of the society and provide admission to the eligible applicants.
RTE Gujarat 2020 Eligibility Criteria
· Orphan child
· A child in need of care and protection
· Kindergarten children
· Children of child labor / migrant labor
· Children with Dementia / Cerebral Palsy, Children with Special Needs / Physically Handicapped and Handicapped - All Disabled Children as shown in Section 4 (1) of 2013
· (ART) Children receiving
anti-retroviral therapy (ART) treatment
· Children of military / non-military / police personnel martyred during duty
· A parent who has an only child and that child is only a daughter
· Children studying in state government owned Anganwadi
· Children of BPL families of all categories (SC, ST, SEBC, General and others) with marks from 0 to 20
